Objectives: To study the influence of evidence-based medicine(EBM) on medical students’ critical thinking ability. Methods: Experimental group: all medical undergraduates who were offered EBM course in the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year in a university. Control group: medical undergraduates who didn’t offered EBM course were collected by cluster random sampling method. Investigating two groups medical undergraduate by using Chinese version of critical thinking disposition inventory(CTDI-CV) at the start and the end of the semester respectively. Results: At the end of the semester, The total scores of CTDI-CV in experimental group(287.51±34.96) were higher than control group(280.16±34.09). The end of the semester compared with the start of the semester, The total scores of CTDI-CV of two groups are fall, the control group had a 15.07 points reduction and the experimental group had a 3.30 points reduction. At the end of the semester, The scores of five items including “open-mindedness”, “analysis”, “systematicity”, “confidence” and “thirst for knowledge” in experimental group were higher than control group. Conclusion: EBM is conducive to develop medical students’ critical thinking ability.
