摘要：《红字》因其神秘氛围和象征意义被一些评论家称之为是一部不该产生的邪恶之作,也因其奇丽的文字和多义性赢得了至高无上的评价,这种由作品所引发出的震动就足以说明了它的魅力所在。笔者试图从救赎、怀疑、反抗三个方面来揭示霍桑在《红字》中主要的精神指向。
Owing to its mysterious atmosphere and symbolic meaning, the Scarlet Letter have been criticised as a evil of work which should not come out. At the same time, this work have also been valued highly for its words as well as its ambiguity. Any shock brought by it indicates its charm enough. The author tries to reveal the spirits of the scarlet letter by Hawthorne in three aspects such as redeeming, doubt and resistance.
