摘要：在当今交际扮演主要角色的社会,英语口头表达能力是现代复合型人才必备的基本素质,思维敏捷、能言善辩是学生未来寻求发展机会的重要条件,也是他们未来事业成功的保证,同样它也是制约二十一世纪大学英语教学的主要瓶颈,越来越多的学生希望能够摆脱"哑巴英语"的困境。本文透过英语演讲反思大学英语教学,探究造成"哑巴英语"的原因,提出改革大学英语教学的举措。
In the world where the communication plays a major role, English oral expression is one of the basic qualities for compound talents. Being quick-minded and eloquent is essential for the students to pursue development, which is also a strong guarantee for their future success. Meanwhile it is one of the major bottlenecks restricting 21st century＇ s CE teaching. More and more students hope to extricate themselves from the predicament of Dumb English. This paper probes into CE teaching through English Public Speaking and analyzes the reason of ＂Dumb English＂. It then puts forwards the measures of reforming CE teaching.
